FREE FOOD For NYS Seniors, Infants, Women & Children Free Food, and nutrition education, is available from the Food and Nutrition Program (FAN) for: infants, children to 6th birthday (not on WIC), plus pregnant, or up to one year postpartum women, or Seniors- age 60 or over, who are income eligible. Each month 16,000 eligible participants in Nassau and Suffolk receive a supplemental food package. Depending on category, Free Food packages can include: infant formula, cereal, juice, cheese and canned: fruits, vegetables, meats, and more. Home Energy Assistance Program Are you having trouble paying your fuel/utility bills? HEAP can help. HEAP is a federally funded program that helps income eligible and senior citizen households pay energy bills. Income guidelines and applications are available at the Social Ministry Office. Free Food for NYS Seniors Free Food and nutrition education is available from the CSFP for Seniors age 60 and over who are income eligible. (Single Senior gross monthly income, $1,009 or less, Senior couple, gross monthly income $1,354 or less). Each month 12,000 Seniors in Nassau and Suffolk receive a supplemental food package worth $50 which includes: cheese, milk, cereal, juices, canned fruits/vegetables, meats and more.
