SACRAMENT PROGRAMS
Grade 2 celebrates FIRST EUCHARIST in the Spring. This is a two year program.
Grade 8 celebrates CONFIRMATION in the Spring. This is a two year program.

Class Schedules

Tuesday -     4:15 to 5:15 PM (weekly) Levels 1 through 6
                     7:20 to 8:45 PM (every other week) - Levels 7 & 8
Wednesday - 4:15 to 5:15 PM (weekly) Kindergarten & Levels 1 through 6
Thursday -   4:15 to 5:15 PM (weekly) Kindergarten & Levels 1 through 6
Children with Special Needs         Sunday - 9:15 – 10:15 AM or Weekday
One-on-One Classes - Catch-up classes for children who are not on grade level of studies.

Arrival – Kindergarten through Grade Level 6 students enter the auditorium via the New Hyde Park Road doors.  Grade Levels 7 & 8 use the North door of the auditorium.  After the doors are locked, you must use the front door of Notre Dame School on Mayfair Road and report to the Religious Ed Office.

Dismissal - Parents of Kindergarten through Grade Level 6 students must come into the building to meet their child.  Students in Grade Levels 7 & 8 meet their parents in a designated parish parking lot.

Notre Dame Religious Education may not be held responsible when a child deviates from their parent designated method of transportation

Curriculum - All textbooks are in conformity with the guidelines published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and are consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Communication
– The Religious Education Office communicates via phone calls and/or notices sent home with your children.

Inclement Weather –Information about cancellation due to inclement weather or another emergency can be found:

  • Channel 12 News – watch for our listing
  • 880 AM (CBS) & 1010 AM (WINS) Radio
  • Announcement in the Public Schools, (when closing occurs during the school day)
  • Message on the Religious Ed Office tape (516-437-5604)

If the local public schools are closed due to weather, Religious Ed classes will be cancelled

Liability of Program – Our Religious Education Program provides a safe environment for students to come and learn. All our volunteers, from Catechists to Monitors to Office Helpers are in compliance with the Diocese requirement of a background check and have completed the Virtus Training for the Protection of Children and Young People
